The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium project is a national education initiative whose mission is to improve palliative care.
Andrew is an author and educator. His first creative nonfiction memoir, Reflections of a Loving Partner: Caregiving at the End of Life was awarded a Gold Benjamin Franklin Award from the Independent Book Publisher’s Association. After a lifetime in New England, he now enjoys living in Austin, TX and working on his next memoir.
Dr. Martin’s nursing career began in hospice and palliative care and then transitioned to HIV/AIDS care. He has taught as both face-to-face and online adjunct faculty for various colleges since 2008; and he joined Regis College in 2017 as Associate Professor and Director, Clinical Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program Online. He maintains one clinical day each week at AIDS Services of Austin, Inc. in Austin, TX, in the role as RN Consultant, supporting HIV infected individuals in HIV medication adherence and retention in HIV primary care.
Dr. Martin maintains specialty certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE®), AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (ACRN), and Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN®) and serves on the HIV/AIDS National Certification Board (HANCB). He is also a peer reviewer for the Journal of Doctoral Nursing Practice, the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, and the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing.
